Beyond a name for bad crip feelings, crip negativity also captures how bad crip feelings are felt: slowly, tearfully, sleeplessly, suicidally, hungrily, among a long list of excessive and pathological ways that crips feel. When considered this way, crip negativity comes into focus as an emotional space where people can locate themselves and others. To do crip negativity is to recognize how bad crip feelings operate within the larger project of anti-ableism and disability liberation.
